Story from The Sun -

EUROCRATS broken their own rules during a stitch-up to parachute Jean-Claude Juncker's right-hand man into a top EU job, a damning report has found.

Officials were found to not have followed proper procedure "in letter or spirit" when Martin Selmayrwas promoted to become the bloc's top civil servant.

In an explosive attack on Mr Juncker's top team, ombudsman Emily O'Reilly said there were "four instances of maladministration" in the process

MEP Jonathan Bullock called Mr Selmayr's promotion a "coup as corrupt as it was efficient".

He added: "It was a total stitch up and it should not have taken over six months for the Ombudsman to reach that conclusion.

"The entire Commission has questions to answer as even Mrs O'Reilly stated it was 'extraordinary' not one Commissioner raised any issues. Selymar simply has to go."
