'...East Midlands MEP Jonathan Bullock ready to fight for Brexit...'
UKIP leader Gerard Batten has given assurances to MEP Jonathan Bullock about the party and the issue of Muslims following the resignations of William Dartmouth and Bill Etheridge.
Mr Bullock, the party's energy spokesman, who represents the East Midlands, requested and received a three-point confirmation on the issue which stated:
UKIP is not anti-Muslim and welcomes Muslims as members.
UKIP's concern is radical Islamism and non-integration.
UKIP is a non-racist non-sectarian party.
After the confirmation, Mr Bullock said: "I am very pleased Gerard has given the assurances I requested.
"The constitution of the party makes clear 'the party will conduct itself and affairs in such a way that it doesn't discriminate on grounds of race, religion, ethnic origin, education, beliefs or sexual orientation'.
"It further states that we are a democratic libertarian party.
"I now look forward to concentrating on Brexit and making the case for a clean Brexit and a case against The Chequers proposal."
