In The Media » MEP calls for Morgan to step down and fight a by-election following huge public support in Loughborough for a clean Brexit
A CALL has been made for Loughborough MP Nicky Morgan to resign.
Jonathan Bullock, UKIP MEP for Loughborough, made the call and urged her to quit and hold a by-election after a cross party pro-Brexit rally in the town on Saturday was met with tremendous support from local people who want a clean Brexit and reject staying in the customs union.
Mr Bullock said: "More than 70 per cent of people in Loughborough I spoke to just want to get on with Brexit and that includes leaving the customs union.
"Nicky Morgan MP has hoodwinked the electorate by being elected on a platform of a clean Brexit but now she wants to remain in a customs union which Liam Fox MP calls a 'betrayal of the referendum.'You can see Jonathan speak at the rally here
"She should stand down and hold a by-election so local people can give their verdict. We had support from local Conservatives, Labour and UKIP on Saturday, all calling for a clean Brexit."
